2025 Taiwan LPGA Tour | ICTSI Philippine Ladies Masters 4 – 6 Feb Final-Round Recap
Date:2026-02-06

Entering the final round trailing by one stroke, Taiwan’s Huang Ching (黃靖) delivered a dominant performance on the front nine, grabbing five birdies by the turn to establish a formidable lead, which helped her to finally capture a commanding four-stroke victory at the ICTSI Philippine Ladies Masters on Friday.

This victory marks her first title in seven years and the fifth TLPGA Tour win of her career.

The US$200,000, 54-hole tournament made history as the TLPGA Tour’s season opener, co-sanctioned by the TLPGA Tour, the Ladies Philippine Golf Tour (LPGT), and the KLPGA Tour, with backing from the Asia Golf Leaders Forum (AGLF).

Huang teed off in the final group alongside Korean players Kang Jeonghyeon and Hwang Yeonseo on a breezy Friday at Summit Point Golf Club. Sensing an opening as her playing partners struggled early, the Taiwanese shifted into attack mode.

"Everything felt incredibly smooth today. Even when I had to face a line I wasn’t entirely sure of, the ball still found the cup. I hit some great bunker shots too; in fact, I was making a lot of great saves all week," Huang said.

"The feeling was amazing, though I did feel a bit of tension after the turn and dropped two shots quickly. I missed a 4-footer on the 10th which led to a three-putt bogey, and my chip on the 12th was a bit too aggressive. But I told myself to just stay focused and continue to play my best the rest of the way," she added.

Despite the hiccup, Huang finished the round with a brilliant 66 for a three-day total of 205 to hoist the trophy.

Kang secured second place with a final-round 71, while fellow Koreans Hwang Yeonseo, Lee Yunseo, and Kang Jisun shared third place at 210.

Huang enjoyed a career year in 2018, capturing three TLPGA Tour crowns, but it was followed by a period of painful stagnation.

"I have spent a lot of time in my hometown in recent time, working closely with my childhood coaches and trying to refine my playing style. I also traveled to Korea for a series of physical training programs. And it feels like the efforts have finally led to a breakthrough," Huang said.

Her form began to trend upward late last season, highlighted by a T4 finish at the major-level Wistron Ladies Open, before she ultimately secured her victory in the Philippines this week. "Looking back on this journey, I want to thank my coaches, my parents and my brother for their encouragement. I am also grateful for the many sponsors who have supported me throughout the years. Thank you all," she added.

Lin Tzu-Chi (林子麒) capped off her best performance in recent memory with a 71 to finish solo sixth at 211, despite a bogey on the final hole that dropped her out of the top-3.

"Although my irons weren’t as sharp as they were yesterday, I still gave myself plenty of birdie looks throughout the round. It was a bit unfortunate that they didn’t drop; however, I feel the quality of my ball-striking was excellent this week, and I am relieved to see my game going in the right direction," Lin said.

Lin also shared a heartfelt thanks to her mother, who stepped in to caddie for her this week. "I’m so thankful for my mom for her hard work. She hasn’t carried my bag for months, and I could tell she was exhausted by the end."

At the closing ceremony, TLPGA Chairwoman Huang Bie-Shyun and representatives from the LPGT exchanged commemorative plaques, celebrating the 18th successful co-sanctioned event between the tours, and a long-standing friendship in the sport.
